Here, you’ll find step-by-step instructions alongside tutorial videos to guide you through the registration process.
Additionally, sample scenes are available to help you grasp each stage before applying the workflow to your own meshes.
Process
- Align the meshes:
Use the centroid or bounding box parameters to pre-align the meshes as accurately as possible. - Run iterations:
Execute a few iterations to evaluate the system’s performance. - Adjust with landmarks if needed:
If the mesh requires additional guidance, add landmarks incrementally—no more than a few at a time. After each addition, rerun the main iterations and adjust the landmarks weights and parameters as necessary. - Modify registration parameters:
When changing the main registration settings, reduce the number of iterations and disable the refinement iterations to minimize computation delays. Note that small meshes (up to about 3000 points) tend to respond quickly, whereas processing dense meshes with high sampling density may take several seconds. - Apply refinement:
Once the previous steps yield satisfactory results, enable the refinement process. If a complete reset is needed, disable the refinement and restart the process following the steps above.
The refinement doesn’t trigger a full recompute, so it should be more responsive.
Note: landmarks are referred to as “pin pairs”.
